The impulse cell reduces the residence times of ions in the collision cell, allowing short MRM dwell times as well as fast scanning precursor and neutral loss experiments on triple quad instruments. It also permanently cures problems associated with collision cell charging on Q-Tof instruments.
The Impulse Cell replaces the standard collision cells in the pre-Premier range of Waters-Micromass triple quadrupole mass spectrometers, resulting in higher MS/MS performance. This brings full UPLC compatibility for the pre-Premier range of mass spectrometers, providing access to the latest multi-MRM UPLC methods.
Tuning parameters are unchanged and the daily operation of the Impulse cell does not differ from a traditional collision cell.
